If you've tried to track before, you know how it goes.
The app
Every food has to be found, scanned or typed in, then checked, because the same chicken breast is in there ten times with ten different numbers. Skip a meal and the app counts the day as a light one, and its advice drifts with it.
The chat
Tell Claude what you ate and it answers with numbers that sound sure. Then it forgets. The same bowl gets a different number next week, and it has nothing to go on when you ask what you ate last Tuesday.
Smacros with Claude
The chat stays. Smacros adds accuracy, reliability and progress tracking on a great-looking dashboard.
The chat stays the same. What comes out of it changes.
There's nothing to look up.
Snap the plate, say what's in it, or write it out, in any mix. Smacros breaks the meal into its foods, checks each one and logs it.

The numbers hold.
Every number is checked on the way in. Show a label once and that food is exact every time after, a plate gets a second look for the portion, and the cooking oil you'd forget to mention goes in.
It answers the question you actually have: is this working?
Your target, what you ate and what the scale did sit side by side, week by week. When you've been eating over the plan, it shows you plainly, and after four weeks on a target it tells you whether you're on pace.

Smacros also works out how much energy you burn, from what you eat and what the scale does, so you can see what your eating predicts for your weight and change course early.

Progress you can count on.
A half-logged day is never counted as a full one. You mark each day complete, and only those days go into your numbers, so your plan keeps working.

Your dashboard fills in the moment Claude's numbers land.

FAQ
Is there an app to install?
No. Smacros is added to Claude as a connector: one link to paste, once, and it's there in every chat. The dashboard is a web page: add it to your Home Screen and it opens like an app, evening reminder included.
I've never tracked macros. Is this for me?
Yes. The setup chat works out your daily targets with you, and after that you just say what you ate. Nothing to learn first. Whenever you're unsure, ask Claude in the same chat: what a macro is, or whether you're getting enough protein this week. It looks at what you've logged and tells you.
How accurate are the estimates?
Claude's estimate of a described meal is a good start, and Smacros makes it better at every step: it checks the foods against ones you've logged before, asks for a label or a detail when a number is uncertain, reads a photo of the plate or the packaging, adds what the cooking adds, and has Claude look up the maker's own numbers online. Until a label or a scale settles a food, its numbers are marked as an estimate, so you always know which figures are solid.
What if I miss a day, or can't remember?
If you remember some of it, tell Claude, then mark the day complete as some meals missing. If you don't, mark the day complete as nothing logged and move on. An honest gap is still an honest record, and your numbers stay right.
What about photos?
A photo helps. Words say what you ate; a photo of the plate shows how much, and a spoon or your hand in the shot gives Claude a sense of size. Words and a photo together beat either alone. It is still a guess, labeled as one, until a label or a scale comes in. What Claude read from the photo is kept, in words and numbers. The photo itself never reaches Smacros.
How does Smacros work out how much energy I burn?
From what you eat and what the scale does. If you eat about 2,200 calories a day and your weight holds steady, you burn about 2,200; if your weight drops, you're burning more, and Smacros works out how much more. Only the days you mark complete count. Tell Claude your height, age and weight and answer three questions about how active you are, and the estimate starts from a range that fits you, then narrows with every day you mark complete and every weigh-in.
What does it cost?
$49 a year or $7 a month, after 14 days free with no card. One plan with everything in it, cancel any time, and a refund within 14 days of a charge. The details are on the pricing page.
Which AI does it work with?
Claude, today, on every plan including the free one. Tell us where you want to use Smacros, and we'll look into it.
What happens to my data?
It's yours. Only you can read it, and Claude when you ask it to. Smacros opens an individual record only to fix a problem you reported or to look into a fault, and your data is never sold, used for advertising or used to train anything. From the dashboard menu you can export your complete history or delete all of it, and a deletion waits seven days so you can change your mind.
Who makes this?
Zeb, who also makes Riffie, an AI for thinking out loud. He tried the big macro apps and gave up on each of them, then logged with an AI long enough to learn what it gets right and where it falls down, and built Smacros as the missing piece. He's building it every week. Email him at zeb@smacros.app.
